Moving Truck Halloween Costume
Beep, beep! Clear the way for the cutest Halloween vehicle costume to lead the trick-or-treating caravan. You’ll be moved to go green and reuse a few cardboard moving boxes with this costume idea. Bonus points for painting the truck a shade of so-chic pink to celebrate your friends at Piece of Cake Moving & Storage.
What you need:
- Tools: Scissors, hot glue gun, paintbrush
- Materials: Marker, 1 large cardboard moving box, 2 smaller moving boxes, masking tape, paint, ribbon, hot glue sticks
How to make it:
Step 1:
Cut the flaps off of the large moving box. This will be the trailer of the moving truck that will go around the body of the wearer.
Step 2:
On one of the smaller moving boxes, tape up the flaps on both sides of the box. This will be the cab of your moving truck.
Step 3:
Use hot glue to attach the taped up moving box to the side of the larger box — that will be the front of the moving truck.
Step 4:
Grab your paints and put the details on the body and cab of the truck! Make sure to put in the tail lights, bumpers, side mirror, and doors! Have fun and get creative (You can use our pink trucks as your muse!). Let the paint dry.
Step 5:
With the other smaller moving box, cut out 4 circles for the wheels of the truck. Use your paints to add details and let dry.
Step 6:
Attach the wheels of the truck using hot glue by putting the painted circles halfway on the inside of the bottom of the box forming the trailer. Glue two wheels on one side of the trailer box and two wheels on the other. Let the glue dry.
Step 7:
To attach straps so that the costume can be worn over the shoulders, cut 2 pieces of ribbon to the length that, when attached, will suspend the trailer box around the body. Hot glue one end of the ribbon to the front of the trailer box and then to the back. Repeat with the other ribbon to form the second shoulder strap.
Honk your horn and step on the gas; you’re ready to trick-or-treat!
